I was born in Toledo, Ohio at the height of the great depression. After high school graduation, I earned a degree in education at The Ohio State University. (I am an ardent Buckeye.)
I married my high school sweetheart. We had a son in an army hospital and later adopted a baby girl in Michigan. I taught school in Toledo, Ann Arbor and Massachusetts.
After 27 years of marriage, I became a single person. I then entered the business world for the next 20 years. I enjoyed teaching but found business (sales, sales management, customer service) very rewarding and a welcome change.
My interests are dance, knitting, reading, movies, theater and travel and am open to trying new ventures.
Now I'm happily back in Ann Arbor. My only regret is that my children, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren all live in California and Oregon.
I must say that for a retired person who wants to remain out of the "well known rut", cohousing and Ann Arbor keeps one hopping and stimulated.
