Decisions Made:
*Tim can have the old closet doors for the cubbie in the kids room since we are not using them

*We will go forward with getting DirectTV for the Media room.

*We ok'd using the donated marble for 1/2 the kitchen island we have to build.

TV in the media room:

[[Elph]] is proposing we go with satellite DirectTV because of a slightly better package. Notes from his email:

I've looked into satellite offers a bit, comparing Dish and Directv. Mark has the first, Aaron the second. They are essentially the same with slightly different packaging. It looks like Directv would get us the basic 130 channels plus a premium package of the 7 HBO channels for about $50 a month. I'd also propose that we get the TiVo device for $5 a month. This will put us slightly above budget but close enough for my comfort. I further recommend that the dish be placed under the eave on the east side of the south facing dining room cedar front. This will give an unobstructed view for the dish and be relatively tucked out of sight.

General discussion about pros/cons.

Parental control features: Dish only for 'adult' channels. comcast and directtv allow for more controls and multiple channel selection. We feel this is important for the community. Cable vs Satellite - cheaper, more channels, more options with satellite. Becky will talk to Dale about Tivo unit. ***Found out after the meeting that our extra unit will NOT work with satellite TV.****

Do we need additional guidelines for that room? Someone asked about a lock. Original programming was to make it easy for kids to watch videos. Several voiced wanting to start with trust and general dislike of locks. We can add parental controls, but parents will need to be aware once we have satellite, that kids will be able to access lots of channels.

Brought group up to date on the only concern we had had about tv in the media room, and that person has changed their mind and is ok with us going forward.

Decision: we will go forward with the DirectTV. Amy will honcho it, [[Elph]] will be available to help.


Kids Room: Tom brought forward that the craft closet in the kid's room needs to be finished, wondering how to get the work finished. Would really like to see it completed. Need someone to measure and buy shelves, install, paint, and install doors. Becky will get the shelves, Tom will find people who can help paint. Where is the money coming from? Still some money left in the kids room budget. Still money left.

Exercise Room: people need to stop putting the High-chairs in there so we have room for the universal. They will be moved to the coat nook. If that doesn't work, they need to be removed from the CH. We were going to try moving the universal on Thursday, but that fell through.

Kitchen Update on the Island. Jeff has piece of marble that is the perfect size for 1 side of, and Tom has found the butcher block, will order this week. NOTE: the butcher block table is NOT for cutting on - we will still use the cutting boards. Do we want to do all marble since we're saving money? back and forth. Lower level = marble, higher lever=butcher block.

Monkey to Becky: print out and post room use guidelines. Separate out things for each room, post in frame with nice script.

Tom got the bulletin board hung, got the tape down, got light bulbs. Getting ready to put the keypads on.

From the cooler: All the interior doors are unfinished, and we had said we would stain them this summer when we could take them outside. Decided on polyurethane. Becky will get a gallon. Also need a dark stain for the columns in the kitchen. Probably only need a pint.
