CH minutes 5/29/04

Decisions:
*Gail can proceed with the Art wall
*No common house meeting next week (june 5th) because of garage sales
*New meeting time will be 9:30 on Saturdays - trial for a few weeks
*Gave the OK to have a rocking chair added to the CH dining room. We have no funds, so the group requesting will need to find/donate one.

Art Wall Presentation from Gail. Gail presented a very clear proposal for having a rotating art wall with donated art from community members. We would provide the wall mounting stuff, but each donor would have to have the art ready to hang and hang it. Gail would be one of 3 people to go through offers. Talked about height to hang, which will largely be dependent on the art we get. The hangers we want to use are a specific kind that don't leave large marks so we could move as well.
Becky will go get 5-6 hangers. Gail will announce an art exhibit day.
Setting new CH time: We're taking next week off for garage sale. New time for the next few weeks is 9:30.
Coat Rack review. we looked at both ideas that Jeff had, and we came up with a 3rd we need to ask him about. [[Elph]] showed Jeff when he came, Becky will follow up.
Monkey update:

Door closer still bad (even worse) we're going to try fixing it today.

Dixie cup dispenser: [[Rod]] can't find one locally isn't terrible. He found some online. We gave the go ahead for the stainless steel one.
[[Rod]] saw a painted concrete floor with flowing colors that looked great. [[Rod]] got the name of who did it. JD did say not to do anything with the floor yet, but we're going to look into the costs just and an option.

Marmoleum floor: Guy who was going to give estimate on sealing never showed up. Question raised about why can't we do it ourselves. Jeff showed up right at this point and said his dad has one we can use. Can be tricky to learn, but once you got it, you got it. We would need to get the pads and cleaning solutions. Monkey: [[Rod]] and Mel will get the info. Jeff will get the machine from his dad. If we do it ourselves, we would need to split it over 2 weekends because you can't walk on it for 24 hrs. Mel and [[Rod]] started looking at the calendar....it's getting full. Also need to work around when Process is planning their meeting.

Rocking chair request: to get one in the dining room for nursing mothers. We had a quick discussion. We give the approval for the bringing in of a rocking chair. The concerned party just needs to get the OK once they find a chair.

Also, where are we storing the extra chairs? As is for now.
Guidelines: some of the feedback from the meeting was around being more specific about "young kids" vs "older kids" We don't want to specify. We are going to add no rough housing for game room. Adding dining room, with no sitting on the tables. We also are adding a section for special events (like directing them where to park and notifying the community if it is a large group)

For next week: we need to cut formica and add a splash back tile behind stove top. Laura will find tile. Easy to clean and affordable are the goals.
Becky will contact bookkeeper for 2 reports: contingency and operating.
