DECISION: Mary Schoen-Clark to sublease Office 1 (also known as Suite 100) from the CH Cmtee.
Kids Room Report from Rachel
Colors chosen:
SW 6901 Daffodil Front wall
SW 6885 Knockout Orange side wall
SW 6973 Free Spirit Back wall
[[Rod]] will be caulking, painting will happen over the next week or so.
Painters caulk from Sherwin Williams - premium
All doors should be left unpainted - we will polyurethane them in the spring
Trim should be consistent color throughout common house
Monkey: Becky to report what trim color to use
Loft will be built along the side. No poles, using wires for front support.
Incorporating a small slide in a staircase up to the loft.
CH Cmtee needs to see the final plan before it is built.
Spend up to $1500.
Note that loft platform has sharp edges so it should not be used for now.
Rachel will be our point of contact for kid's room for donations.
Construction report
Few still remain:
hood still needs to be vented - gas is turned off till fixed
hallway closet doors are custom sized, on their way.
some doorknobs needs to be switched
office and guestroom will have keyed locks. Offices can do deadbolts, but must give CH Cmtee a clearly marked key. We will keep the key secure. Color match deadbolt to the doorknobs (nickle satin)
Data line is in, phone lines delayed. Should be in next week.
Ted has the punch list, there were a few more things added.
Q? will there be a door on kitchen pantry? door would be in the way, but it's ugly without. MONKEY CONST: review this
First thing on the list is getting all the outside doors lockable
Coat Racks. We did request that we have high rack and then an additional lower one with a kids rack. We can change this, but need to find out why they lowered them. Also, we might want to add another coat rack to west hall.
MONKEY to punchlist - the list switch in Dales office (middle) turns on the west exit sign.
Temp C of O = paint and caulk eaves within the next 90 - 120 days. And, put a center island that matches specs in regards to ADA. Current plan is to buy legs, and attach to butcher block.
What is the long term plan for the dishwashing area? We may want to acquire a sink like at Sunward.
Squirter for the other sink would be great.
Donation policy
Do we want to have sub-area donation czars.
Kids room, media room, game room, guest room.
Rachel should clear donations for kids room
Becky for exercise room
Amy for Media room
Amy/Mel for kitchen
[[Elph]] for everything else
Renting our office - Mary as subleasee
Becky contacted the other folks who had expressed interest. Spoke to everyone but Danny. Though Danny cannot commit at this time. None were ready to commit.
How to equitibly split costs. Square footage or time in use?
Square footage seems like the best method for this sublease.
How much space would we use? Small work space with chair, filing cabinet, fax machine. Other keys to the office would be in the hands of those CH cmtee who would be doing work in there. No copier.
Mary will organize office taking into account our requirements.
(Note the phone closet will make some white noise.)
Can we replace closet door with something else? Bifold?
If another cmtee or person wants to sublease space in that office they need to come to the common house and we need to negotiate it out with the subleasees of the office to an equitable agreement.
NOTE to Community: All painting in CH needs to be low VOC. We highly recommend Harmony line from Sherwin-Williams in Egg Shell (except for bathrooms, trim, and window sills.) The trim needs to be caulked and primed, then painted white (we have a color spec.)
Kitchen update
Amy went to second hand restuaruant supply place. Got lots of stuff from our list. We need some items still. Amy will email the remaining items out. Mel and Deb Schaubman will be taking the baton for fulfilling remaining pieces. Start moving stuff in. Take photo of organized cabinet and put photo on outside of drawer or door. We might need a labeler.
MONKEY: Amy will put up a board for a kitchen wish list.
Common Meal program
Amy will put a first month manual sign-up for cook/clean/and eat.
Tammy's baby shower is march 14th 1:00 - 5:30 in the dining room. They will be out of the cooks' way, but we need to let the cooks and Tammy know that they need to coordinate use of the space.
Billing for eating, nothing is in place, cooks will have to wait for reimbursement until we have some system in place.
Appliance manual keeper. We need to keep copies in
Priming window sills
Some of them need to get done really soon because they might get wait. Like the kitchen near the sink.
NOTE: Caulking trim and sills should include nail holes.
MONKEY: [[Elph]] - We need wastebaskets, paper towel dispensers, soap, paper towels, etc. Real soon. Broom, dust pan, mops. Scrubbies, sponges, scrapers, bucket for mop, dish soap. Laundry hamper. Laundry table - there are two.
Monkey: Heather and [[Rod]] will go get the 2 laundry folding tables.
We should move the carts to the cart shed now.

Addition from Lisa:
How much space would we use? Small work space with chair, filing cabinet, fax machine. Other keys to the office would be in the hands of those CH cmtee who would be doing work in there. No copier.
Am I correct in interpreting this to mean that only Mary SC and certain members of the CH committee would have keys - and therefore access to the fax machine? And do you mean no copier in this office or no copier at all?
----
----
Addition from Becky:
At this time, we agreed that only Mary SC and the members of the CH cmttee that need access will have keys to the office. If someone needed to use the fax, they would either ask a member of the CH cmttee or simply check in with Mary.
Dale was going to 'loan' us the copier, but for several reasons Mary and the cmttee have decided not to take it. Dale will instead have it in his office in the CH. He might be willing to let people use it if they bribe him with Twizlers or Breyers mint choc chip ice cream.
----
Addition from Lisa:
Thanks, Becky. While I can guess at the reasons for not accepting Dale's loan, and I appreciate his willingness to be bribed at such a reasonable price, I am really disappointed that there will not be a true community copier. I have always thought copiers and fax machines are brilliant examples of community sharing - things that most of us don't use enough to buy, but would really like to have one, conveniently located, once in a while. Having a community copier also makes making 40 copies of handouts for meetings (and other community notices) much less of a burden.
I'm also not thrilled with having to track down Mary or a CH Comm. member to send or receive faxes, but I do it infrequently enough that I'm willing to give it a try.
I hope that the committee will continue to think about a copier - perhaps located in another spot in the common house, if space is the issue.
