Common House [[Committee]] Minutes
February 7, 2004
In attendance: Laura, Heather, Melissa, Amy N., [[Rod]], Becky, [[Jenny]], Melisa, Sam, Annaliese, Rostam
Facilitator: Becky
Minutes: Melisa
Agenda
- update on appl
- update on exercise room
- party
- sitting room furniture
- meal program accounting
- blinds update
- dining room lights
- when can office(s) be painted
Kitchen appliances:
Becky is contact for remaining appliances (wall ovens delivered; were they supposed to be installed); Kirk said range hood has to be installed ASAP to avoid holding up Cof O; invoice # at Big George's is E45733. Customer pick-up; special order to be picked up on Monday. Cash on Delivery $822.56. Probably will not be available on Monday. Ted is following up. [[Rod]] will be second follow-uper. Why isn't Big George's installing? They are overbooked and haven't done
any installation. Can Phoenix install? Hobart is due to be
delievered on Tuesday. It is paid for. Refrigerator is not yet ordered. Will not hold up C of O. If Ted has any issues, he should contact Amy N. You are not out in the wilderness by yourself, Ted!
Exercise Room Update:
Sharon has manual for Universal. 7-1/2 feet long and 5-1/2 feet wide. It will take up entire large section of room. Do a dot storm at next business meeting to see if Universal truly desired. Or set it up and try on a trial basis. Or buy smaller equipment, or find other donation. Used equipment? We have volunteers to assemble and disassemble. [[Committee]] decided to set it up and see how it works before making any other decisions.
GO Party:
Is it realistic to think we are going to have it next weekend (Feb. 14) in the CH? The range hood is the critical path item. If we have info re: range hood by Monday, then decide. This is a GO-only party. The other concern is do we have time to clean it. Should we wait until we definitely have the C of O before we plan this party? [[Rod]] offered to help build tables. There are volunteers to help clean up. Can CH meeting be the clean up time?
We will set up a drop date date for deciding if the party is a go -- how about Wednesday? If it goes then we'll put out a call for help.
Sitting room:
We think the carpeting will be replaced per previous discussions. Has this really occurred? Laura will shop for and probably purchase something for sitting room this week. [[Jenny]] will talk with JD about whether the carpeting is really going to be the case, and whether we can get a berber carpet as we thought we specified instead of the short shag.
Meal plan accounting:
We're going to be setting up a system for meal plan online -- Willie may help us with this, or perhaps Dale because he has more experience with QuickBooks. This is the responsibility of the "meal coordinator," not the CH committee. How urgent is this? We don't have to decide today.
Is the meal coordinator the same as the meal accountant? The answer is that they're separate. Heather volunteered to be the meal billing person (who will help set up the system).
Blinds update:
The bathrooms, all the above-door windows, the interior doors, and the north-facing dining side windows will have no blinds.
Melisa has an A-list and a B-list. The A-list includes the dining room, sitting room, exercise room, guest room, media room, and kitchen. The B-list includes the game room, the kids room, the south dining windows, and the community office. Initially only the A-list windows will get blinds.
Dining room lights:
Some think they look odd because they're hung too high above the tables (and at different heights), but they won't be changed unless we change them.
