Common House: Hot Tub minutes: 2006-11-14
Minutes:
We discussed budget numbers, and the future of the project. I didn'ttake notes, so before I forget, these are the details.
Ultimately, we're going to shoot to overcome the inertia on this
project, and try to get funding for the installation in 2007. We'll
worry about operation later, which we'll probably accomplish through
usage fees.
Our money will come from:
* $950 from previous budget cycles
http://gocoho.org/pipermail/hottub_gocoho.org/2006-July/000024.html
* $2700 from 2007's budget request ($6.08 per household per month)
* $550 from private donations (these pledges were made during the
survey process)
* with any left over coming from a fundraiser (brunch or dinner)
This brings us to $4200 before fundraising, and that's about how much
we estimated for installation.
Which leaves us the policy to argue over. We decided not to push this
through at the budget allocation meeting, but instead to take our
time to work on it afterwards. This will require negotiation and
compromise. Who is willing to find a way through this?
Negotiations:
-----------------
* Willie will talk with Judith about reservations
For example, Judith goes to bed early. Perhaps reservations could
start later at night, and go for a limited time only.
* Eric will talk with Debbi and Mary about responsible use, and
minimum age
One example, Katie's parents live in a condo association which has a
hot-tub, this has a minimum usage age of 14. Will parents go for
that? Who knows? But the tub will be locked up, and people will have
to record their usage for fees.
