2. Goings ons in the Common House Report

Eric reports: Someone lifted the lid off of the fish tank (not a simple
task) in the last week but all fish appear to be well.

Tammy reports: Today I found Bruno and a friend leaving the kitchen when I
was coming
in to start cooking. There was a strong aroma of marijuana smoke where
they had been standing just moments before. Later, when I was making
my meal, I realized that one third of one of the baguettes I'd
purchased for dinner had been taken - I didn't notice it earlier
because they'd hidden the evidence by turning it around in the bag and
positioning it so it wasn't obvious that part was missing. (So
obviously they knew they were doing something they shouldn't have -
perhaps this is why they left the CH in a rush immediately after.)

In related marijuana news, I smelled a strong aroma of smoke and heard
hushed voices coming from the hot tub enclosure during the day one day
last week. Polly was my assistant cook tonight, and she mentioned that
when she went on Sunday's cohousing tour with a friend, there was an
overwhelming marijuana aroma in the exercise room that noticeably
bothered at least one of the visitors.

Tammy informed Fatima and the CH committee

3. Emily has asked if she could receive work hours for doing some work to
improve the kids room.

She says: I would like to see:
1. Repainting walls and loft
2. Replacing carpet on loft
3. Removing carpet in back room (there is good looking flooring underneath
- same as in hallways/dining room - that I think would be good in that room)
4. Adding some wall art and new toys/removing old toys, which can all be
done on a shoe string budget utilizing second hand stores

We are inclined to give her 18 hours in the next work period.

4. Maintenance report

Ted says: I’ve replaced a number of the floodlight bulbs in the kitchen and
a couple other spots recently. There are a few more that are in the process
of dying—the Cree brand lighting elements are a ring of maybe 10-12 LEDs
and I can see that some of the bulbs have parts of their ring burned out. I
don’t know when these were purchased but I don’t get the impression they
are holding up for the advertised life, does anyone else have any better
information?

The three spots in the kids room are out, do we know if those are a bulb
issue or a problem with the track? Is is safe to assume the single light
switch inside the door controls both the track and fluorescent fixture in
there?

In the west closet there are a bunch of new LED fixtures that I think are
intended to replace ceiling can lights. Is there a plan for these?

There are also some big metal light fixtures of some sort taking up a lot
of room at the back of the shelf. Any idea what these are for? Do we need
to keep them?

Most questions were answered in a follow-up chat.

Common House committee meetings are the 2nd Tues at 7pm and 4th Sat at 10
am (when needed.)
