CH Office Manager - Gail Graham
Some reluctance around how in the past these jobs have been valued as non
scheduled jobs but that the folks that choose those jobs don’t tend to
carry through on doing them.
Noted that committees in general are not good at job oversight.
Continue on with usual niche pre-assignments such as hot tub and fish care,
etc.
Jim will be resigning from the committee in good standing.
Katie and Nancy have interest in continuing but do not require
pre-assignment. Thomas was non-committal. Elph will return as convener
another time.
The late night lock up job description was worked on by Elph and the
workers in that job to fine tune it and put a list in order that it is done
to serve as a checklist to follow. A clipboard with this and a place to
leave notes for the committee will be provided.
CH office & furnishings and job description
First priority is to get the existing file cabinets and archives into the
office and also add a file cabinet for maintenance info. A card table from
Katie will come over. And then we will assess what the space looks like
before adding more. There is some discussion about a spare computer in that
room but we’ll wait to see how much space we have.
Add to reservation system? Could be used for micro meetings.
Community Office Manager (1 hour)
-
serves as contact person for information about the office and its use
-
makes sure office is kept neat and usable
-
contacts committees with requests/concerns
-
arranges for purchase of needed supplies or equipment, in consultation
with the common house committee
IMPORTANT: Committees will be responsible for filing and storage of their
materials
Problems with some late night use of CH
Through many reports from various parties we have learned that one of our
teens, along with his friends, and sometimes just his friends, has been
spending time in the common house late at night - between them all they are
responsible for leaving messes, smoking pot, drinking, leaving the windows
open, leaving dirty dishes and half-eaten food, bottles of chewing tobacco
spit, vomit or nasty spills on the carpet and leaving it there, and
possible leaving burn marks in the carpet. His parent asked Elph to speak
with him.
Elph will speak with him, share what he has been told about the late night
goings ons, and ask the young man for his advice on what we should do about
the situation. If there is not a reasonable response the next step (which
will be shared with him) will be to share his name and activities with the
community and ask the community for advice on what to do about the
situation.
Elph will report back to the committee.
